Who We Are
We are Lily and Joseph. We founded Natural Pet Burial out of a shared commitment to caring for the earth and supporting those facing the loss of cherished pets.
With a background in environmental science and a passion for natural fibre textiles, we set out to create a fully natural burial option — one made in Ireland from Irish materials, offering an alternative to synthetic products and cremation.
We understand the grief of losing a pet and believe that choosing a natural burial is not only gentler on the environment, but can also be deeply meaningful. It can provide a way to honour our pets, reflect on the joy they brought and give comfort in a time of grief.
Our Shrouds
A shroud is a simple fabric covering that gently enfolds a pet, providing both protection and a sense of care as they are laid to rest.
We have created a version which envelopes a pet in layers of thick Irish wool felt, secured by wool and hemp ties. Sturdy webbing straps with soft wool handles are attached for comfortable carrying. All sizes except our extra small shroud are supported by an integrated wooden base and each one is personalised with an engraved wooden name plate.
Designed with sustainability at the core: every component has been carefully chosen for its natural origin, biodegradability, and low impact. We have made every effort to support Irish and source our materials as locally as possible.
Each shroud is handmade by us, reflecting the care of a small business where every piece is created thoughtfully and in limited numbers.
